Jimmy Rader’s Hot Rod Social #2

Words and Photos by Sherm Porter

As hundreds of gearheads descend on the quaint little town of Bradley, memories of early Hollister come to mind…only for a fleeting second, though, as the town population doubles for the day, with an array of hot rods, rat rods, muscle cars, pickups, customs, rock crawlers, Peterbilts and of course a wide variety of early Indians, Harleys and even a rare Crocker…

The main street is packed with spectators and fans of the assembled display, as even with the word that went out was mostly word of mouth, Jimmy has a large following of friends and customers that appreciate his style of build…creative, to say the least!

As if the cars were not enough, there was a swap meet, live music scattered among the show, food vendors, pinup models, and perhaps the wildest display of personal and creative trophies arranged on the flatbed of one of Jimmy’s trucks…Jimmy’s close friends each contributed a handmade work of art to be awarded to the Best Rat Rod, Best Paint, Best Gas Guzzler…you get the idea!

Enjoy the stroll through the show…
