What can we say except CONGRATULATIONS to Steve Torrence and his team for winning the 2018 NHRA Mello Yello Top Fuel Championship and the Toyota Nationals in Las Vegas last weekend. So far, it’s been a stellar year for Steve as they finish the countdown with a perfect 20-round winning streak. Torrence’s Championship came in the semi-final round when he defeated Richie Crampton and then won the finals over Leah Pritchett with a 3.75-second pass at 326.32 mph. With only 4-rounds left in the season, the CAPCO Contractor’s team could ride the wave for a perfect 24-round win in the countdown.

And how about J.R. Todd. WOW! What a turnaround! Leaving the race 74-points ahead of Robert Hight, whose first-round cylinder problems cost him the race, and who entered the race 11-points ahead of Todd! It was J.R.’s fifth win of the season defeating Matt Hagen with a 3.92 at 318.39 mph in the final.
